"PROSPERI-TREE" - S$38 (Sold)

Okay - don't laugh .... for the want of a special name for this box, my other half, whose in the creative biz., thought he was really "clever & creative" (er hmmm... ) coming up with the name for this box. I think its a pretty good name actually, considering that the kumquat tree symbolises "prosperity" during the Chinese Lunar New Year, and it is - a tree !!

There are 8 kumquats - the number 8 being the most auspicious and "luckiest" number among the Chinese, and, as for the Kumquat, it is said that the word "kum" is similar to the word for "gold or golden", and the word "quat" similar to that of "good fortune, or luck". The tiny green leaves of this plant symbolise riches, and in a nutshell -- "unity and perfection".

I have wired up this ivory coloured Thai silk box using dark copper wire, with EIGHT kumquats in the most beautiful orange, textured toned light green leaves and dark green pointed leaves, all in czec glass. I've also added pretty little peridot chips for extra texture and zest. The result ... my "Prosperi-Tree" :)

The box is a nice 4-1/4" square, has no compartments within, which makes it very versatile.

Get this box for someone special to give them the gift of prosperity, good fortune and unity this Lunar New Year!!!

Apologies for the bad photography .... its a cloudy day in Singapore today, and I know that the ivory silk looks very 'flat'. Its really very pretty in reality -- the "creative guy" gave me the thumbs up - for the box - inspite of my bad photography ... phew!
For a bigger view of the box, just double click on the picture .. which will bring you into the Flickr album.
