Our HERO - Dr. Jean-Paul Ly

The Good Lord sent us to Dr Ly, without whose God-given talent and compassion, our little girl may not be mobile or even here right now.

Dr Ly performed both Tania's hip dysplasia surgeries successfully, and is doing a wonderful job with her. He is very particular about her diet and STRESSES alot on physio. for her, especially swimming, for prevention of scarring tissue formation, and to keep her legs mobile and as strong as possible.

Tania will have her left knee operated on this comingTuesday, March 2nd, and we have peace of mind that she's in the best hands ever !

You rock Dr Ly ..... and Tania says that you're NOT ALLOWED to retire until she says so !

Thanks for this portrait shot !

(Tania : 21 months old, Dian: Forever Beautiful, Dr Ly: Forever Young:)))

Dr Jean-Paul Ly is the Founder and Resident Vet of Animal Recovery Centre.

Dian & Tania (visit to the Vet, Feb. 4, 2010)

(NOTE: This shot was taken BEFORE her exam.)

This is Dian - Head Nurse at our Vet's. She is Tania's "mostest" favourite person there. Have you noticed how our four-pawed babies seem to have favourite persons everywhere they go :)))))))

Tania ABSOLUTELY loves her (see how happily she's smiling). She's very trusting of Dian, as she was the Nurse who carried her upstairs to Surgery last January & April (at 7 & 9 months old, respectively) when she had both her hip dysplasia ops. done successfully, by Founder & Resident Vet - Dr. Jean-Paul Ly.

Tania couldn't lift her paw for a long, long time, but compensated with lots and lots of affectionate kisses for Dian.

More about her examination in the above post.

HAPPY 2010 !!

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

Wishing all other beautiful Goldens, four-pawed friends, Flickr Buddies and everyone a wonderful 2010 filled with love, hope, joy and loads of fun !! :)))

(Yes its me ... Tania ... in case you don't recognize me with this silly over-sized hair-ribbon; I had to wear it for my New Year portrait just to make "them" happy. I'm not in my "girlie-girl, feminine" stage right now... digging up the garden is more my thing) !

You mean its NOT 2010 yet ???

This was taken just before midnight on New Year's Eve, whilst we were getting our party stuff ready.

TANIA and her family take this opportunity to wish friends and Flickr buddies a wonderful 2010 filled with love, hope, joy and loads of fun with our 4-pawed babies :)))

Now ???

Opening of Xmas presents only happened yesterday, as one of my kids was away.
Poor girl waited and waited and waited .....

TANIA .....

LIVING her life the way a Golden WAS BORN TO !

Spunk, determination, fearlessness & a high threshold for pain, have brought this little girl with teeny tiny hips, over-developed shoulders & a strong zest for life this far !

Last weekend, she made her FIRST few leaps EVER, since we noticed her problem at 4 mths. old, a month after we adopted her.

And one month later since the left paw .....

Photographed Nov 29, 2009

.... she can now ALSO give her RIGHT paw !

And .... she has one more BIG surprise !!!

(Tania - 18 months old)

See what I can do now !

Photographed Nov 29, 2009

Tania can finally "give paw" again !

She has been UNABLE to give either paw since Christmas 2008 due to severe hip dysplasia (both hips).

Since her Left hip. op. in Jan. '09, and Right hip op. in Apr. '09, she was just beginning to lift her left paw in mid-Oct., when we left on holiday.

Upon our return 3 weeks later, she still couldn't lift her Right paw, but she gave us a great welcome home surprise by giving us her Left paw!

And just look how high she could lift it today !
(haha ... must be the chewie-chewie treat in my hand).. :)

'Lil Miss Forlorn

Tania doing her thing at the pool regularly whilst we were away, thanks to my sister Karen.

We were told that she was "love-sick" and somehow I think this pathetic look was "personally meant for me"...

Oh no .... earthquake tremors .....

Did I just see my ball move by itself ???

My Aunty P gave this ball to me, so I'd better hold on to it tight !!!!!

Dessert ??

This leaf was hanging off her tongue when I came back out into the patio to see what she was "up to" after washing up after lunch (its NOT a posed shot).

She obviously had a nice romp in the garden, or what little she's left of it after chomping on leaves the past few months ! Pups ;-D

Pleeeeeeze Hurry Mum .....

.... I'm hungry ...

Lady " In-Waiting "

.... literally !

After I'd laid Saturday lunch on the table and went upstairs to gather the family, THIS is what was waiting for us in the patio when we came down.

Lady-in-Waiting or Lunch Sentry or whatever, ...... haha, what pooch can resist the tasty aroma of chicken soup and pasta ;-D
