SHELLEY Necklace

SHELLEY Necklace by trishastrove

Watching our little terrapin friend climb up his/her rock and slowly glide down, reminded me of the beautiful Labradorite Nuggets I've been hoarding.

A gorgeous 4-sided faceted twist-shaped drop sits in the centre of this piece, with smaller fancy cut labradorite stones along the chain, all emanating amazing blue flashes. Swarovski Crystal Pearls and Thai Karen Hilltribe Silver (97%) Turtle and Hammered Ring, Crystal Quartz and Fluorite Rondelles complete the Shelley necklace.

It was dusk and the sun was going down fast, so unfortunately I couldn't capture the blue flashes in all the Labradorite stones in one pix, and luckily for me, my son's friends were visiting from overseas, so I grabbed hold of one of the gals, who very patiently turned this way and that for a few pixs.
She modelled a couple more necklaces for me, and I was so touched she loved this one, and the dear hubby got it for her :)

COOL 'N CALM - S$48 - Sold

Did you know : (I got this off the internet) that ....

" Some believe the turtle is the symbol of the primal mother and connected to the lunar cycle.
In the Far East it was believed the shell was a symbol of heaven and the square underside was a symbol of earth. The turtle could help you unite heaven and earth within your own life.
Ancient myths describe the world as resting on the turtle's back.
Others believe the turtle is associated with longevity, great age, and wisdom.
The turtle naturally withdraws and goes within when in turmoil. It does not need to learn the importance of this, it naturally knows.
The turtle's whole life is one of steadfastness of effort and patience. Slow and steady: A life of 'non-doing'. There is a saying "home is where the heart is". The turtle is always at home within itself.
May we learn from these ancient creatures. "

I think the above is so beautiful, and well, I've always loved turtles, so I just had to put this bracelet together with these cute, cute Thai Karen Hilltribe turtles that I got just before Christmas .. (design is on the underside too!), together with aventurine ovals, a couple of white Haememorphite ovals, bali silver beads and a Thai Hilltribe hammered S-hook clasp. Its about 7-3/4 in. long and ever so calm and soothing looking in real life. Each turtle is about 3/4 in. long, and puffy in the centre.
