HAPPY BIRTHDAY SASHA - 7 July 2008

The day before yesterday was SASHA's 13th birthday ... and although we can't celebrate with her, we can at least pay her another tribute for being a t.v. star .... yes she was!

A few years ago, in 1999, when she was about 4 years old (~and nice and slim~) ... Singapore Telecommunications celebrated their 120th anniversary by having a competition which featured about 10 t.v. commercials that were put up for vote to the public, to choose the winner.

The commercial below was titled 'SASHA', and eventho it wasn't the winning one, we were so proud of her coz she behaved so well throughout the shoot.

Some of you may remember this series of about 10 commercials, which were, to name a few :
- 'Pager Girl', - 'Kachang Puteh Man', and - 'Sleepover'.

Sasha went through no less than 20 takes, over and over again, with great patience and grace; I guess she didn't mind as she was working with a pretty good-looking talent ... :)

It was fun for us to have a professional film director, t.v. crew, cameras, film equipment et'al in our home, not to mention having a star in our midst.

Sasha ... we miss you, and you will always, ALWAYS be OUR STAR !!

SURE SOUNDS LIKE THUNDER ...

Sasha: Eeeks! Sure sounds like thunder ... oh no ... and I've only "saved" one baby and have so many more to bring in but I'm too scared to go out again ......

(Note: Haha! See that look in her eyes. She REALLY DOES bring in all her babies when there's thunder, lightning and rain ...)

What a morning .....

This morning was quite a morning, and I mean "QUITE A MORNING" .... at least for me. I heard Mummy telling Daddy that I had to go to the 'vet' ...... each time I hear that word, I think .... "oh oh" ...

Anyway, I went for my yearly checkup and vaccination ... which was quite nice, as I get to "meet" other dogs where we "sniff out" each other, and I met a real cute "chow chow" called "Cha Cha" ..... and that was fun ...

The vet was happy with my progress, as I've lost about 4 kgs., (did you hear that Aunty Belinda ... 4 kgs.~!!!~ yeay! ) and he said that my heart's pretty strong for a gal my age (errr hmm .... I'll be 13 this July ....).

B - U - T..... when we reached home and Mummy lifted me out of the car, I was in so much distress and was crying out in pain. I ran straight for the grass and was digging my face and body into it to try to "rub off" the pain. My whole face was swollen and bunged up, and my skin had turned a SCREAMING shade of pink !!

Mummy panicked, as everyone knows I'm a quiet dog, so when I whimper and cry .... they know something's REALLY wrong.

We had to drive ALL the way back to the vet to get an "antidote", as he said I had an allergic reaction to the vaccination. My heart was racing, and I just couldnt move, and Mummy refused to move me from the car, but requested the vet to please come out to the carpark with the injection. Phew! Thank goodness for that ....

Inspite of the pain, I felt quite grand with the little commotion around me in the carpark ... and now, I'm back home. Had a little soup, and I heard the vet telling Mummy to keep me calm and comfortable as the injection would make me sleep for about 2 - 3 hours, so she's surrounded me with my favourite babies (I'm not kidding .... I do sleep with them like this very often) .... and I shall sink into blissful oblivion ......

I am now fast asleep with my babies, and hope to wake up feeling much better.

Oh boy ... I really want some ... just look at how chewy it is and all that icing sugar ..... mmmmmm ...... I know I'm not supposed to have any coz I'm overweight ... but its Christmas ... so I hope Daddy and Mummy will make an exception.... just this one time ....... (hoping, hoping ....)

Oh YESSSSSS !!!! They DO love me .... it must be that look in my eyes ... it just makes Daddy melt ..... oh boy ..... sweet, chewy ecstasy at last !!! My delish Xmas treat !!! Yumms !!
And I know I'll be back to my veggie and brown rice diet, which I really do enjoy too!!!

WOW !!! Look what I got -- its a cute little brown and black puppy dog that's so nice and soft (you can't see the rest of his body, coz my cheeky brother and sister have balanced it on my head .... ) ... I also got a couple of packets of doggie treats ... mmmmm ... my favourite !!

SASHA

Hi! I'm SASHA, and I wanted to wish all who check in to our blog today, a really good morning. This is a picture of me - taken on my 12th birthday this July - wearing a present from one of my favourite Aunties - Aunty Belinda of Bellee Beadz. It was a 'surprise' gift that she made just for me, and I absolutely love it! It was so nice of her to think of me on my birthday, coz just like most 'ladies', I too, love to receive jewellery on special occasions! Not only that, Aunty Belinda noticed my 'ample body' (as she kindly describes it), that she made my necklace 'fully adjustable' - just like all you ladies out there :). Well Aunty Belinda - guess what - I went on diet - and have lost 3kgs. or more already --- wuff .... (phew, thank goodness you made my necklace adjustable ...... !)
Now that my Mummy has gotten back to one of her fave passions, ie. crafting, I'm really honoured that she wants to share this blog with me, and we've decided to name it 'TRISHA's TROVE'. The 'Tri' comes from her name Patricia, and the 'sha', from my name Sasha, and when combined, its 'TRISHA'. Magically, it has the same pronunciation as her short-formed name of 'Tricia. Was this a coincidence ??? .... hmmm .... well, maybe not ...... afterall, we are best buddies, and I guess this little blog was just meant to be.
Oh yes, Mummy used to go by the name of MUFFETT07, but now that 'I'm' in the picture, do look for us under our new name.
