Why does Tania look so happy today ?

B'Cos ... she climbed those stairs all by herself for the FIRST TIME today !
(yup, we just got back from hydro-therapy).
With all her hard work, her legs are now much stronger, and her hips are almost of equal size! Yeay !!!

She's also getting confident now and climbing the short staircase in the house:))))

(I know it looks dangerous that she's sitting way up there by herself. Don't worry, I AM NOT an errant dog owner. She's on her leash and someone is "hiding" in the background just behind her for safety and she was sitting there for just a few seconds for this shot). She still can't run down the ramp on the right-hand side, as it is too steep for her.

The Unbelievable Happened !!!

This was a TOTALLY EMOTIONAL MOMENT for me and TRULY UNEXPECTED !

After two HD surgeries and months and months of hard work of swimming 3x a week since mid-February, what comes naturally to a Golden or any healthy, normal dog for that matter, was a GLORIOUS MOMENT for my girl !!!

Linda playfully splashed water at her towards the end of her session, and FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE VERY FIRST TIME !!! with the pool floor as support, she was ABLE to momentarily use her hips and legs to stand, to try catch the water sprays, cheeks flapping 'an all !

Have I been tearing each time I look at this pix ... what do you think ???

Oh Happy Day !!!!!

What a beautiful start to her day !!!!! - back in the pool at last ! Very zen swimming today - no 'cheer-leading' was necessary.

And then .....

Coco & Tania

Linda (Tania's Therapist) brought her very pretty Corgi to play with Tania when she came for therapy today.
Well - NO swimming last week, NO swimming this week & life's sooo boring for our girl - so it was really sweet & thoughtful of Linda to bring Coco over. Isn't she just gorgeous !

Dearest SASHA - One Year Ago Today ...

I lost my best friend.
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you.
You were gentleness, beauty, elegance personified;
and will forever be in our hearts.
We miss you terribly, and would give
anything to have you back.
We have a new cheeky little girl
Wish you were here to play with her.
Though no other could ever take your place,
we will look after her lovingly.
With love,
Your family.

~ ~ 7 July 1995 to 2 July 2008 ~ ~

You were a good morning.
A heartening welcome.
A gentle spirit.
A gracious lady.
A heart of gold.
You were dignity.
The personification of love.
A confidante.
A shoulder to lean on.
A cuddly hug.
A sympathetic ear.
A selfless soul.
You loved deeply and unconditionally.
You were my best friend.
In spite of the pain,
You never complained.
You fought a good fight,
but time wasn’t on your side.
I have cried my eyes swollen,
Pining for you.
But the tears I’ve shed,
will never bring you back.
You may be gone,
but memories of you will forever live on.
Love, Mummy.

WHERE ISSSSS she ........! ?????

Sitting on the wooden ramp leading up to the swimming pool, EAGER to be let in, but I told her that we were waiting for Linda.

Eventho Tania's been going for her swims 3x a week since mid-February, its wonderful that she gets so excited each time we reach the pool and just CAN'T WAIT to get into the water !

(she's 13 months old now).

Linda & Tania

Took this shot of 'the girls' just before hydro-therapy started this morning.

Both Zoe & Linda have been doing a fine job, and now that Zoe is in the U.S. till her return, Linda has taken both hydro & physio-therapy in hand, and Tania is responding very well!

In both her hip dysplasia operations, there was complete removal of the femoral head ('ball'), as they were badly damaged. With a talented vet, great therapists, willing pup, a miracle and many prayers, we aim to give Tania as normal a life as we can!

"Pleeeeeeeeeeezzzzzze Linda ....."
Linda was so sweet as to bring a 'new toy' to get our girl to swim :)

Tania gets bored soooooooooo easily, and we have exhausted every single pool toy .......

"She's messing with me again .... "

"C'mon Tania .. Bone or cover?? .. Bone or Cover?? "

(After a great workout at the pool, Tania had a huge pork bone loaded with cartilage and marrow -vet recommended- in case you'll wondering, and inevitably BOREDOM sets in after her last chomp. Then, my "work" begins .. haha) ...

Exhausted ....

from a GOOD workout this morning .......

Peace at last .......

Aaaaaargh .........

He's still on my tail .............. !!!

(for a pup who gets bored easily, having Buddy in pursuit of her got in a few more laps ... )

H - E - LLLLLLL P !!!!!!!

Our modest little "Miss" DID NOT enjoy being sniffed by the 6-month old male Lab., who was in pursuit of her during this morning's hydro-therapy ......

When not being her usual mischievous self, Tania really does look pretty "matured" ... errr ... did I just say that ??????
I'm sure I'll be eating these words soon ;-D

10 a.m. - Hydrotheraphy

Fave swimming toy :)))))))

This is Linda, Assistant Canine Massage Therapist, Pawsitive Sensations. Owner & Certified Canine Massage Therapist, Zoe Gan, who has been taking care of Tania since her first op., is now away in California with her husband due to his 2-year posting, so Linda has the most rewarding task of taking care of all their "patients" at the moment.
Zoe calls her blue van "SKY", and I call it the "Magic Van" coz that's where our little girl is healing more and more with each physio session.
ZOE - "Hurry Home .... we miss U" !!!!!!!

After swim/hydro-therapy, Tania has a nice shampoo and shower, then its up the "sky ramp" and into the van for her massage.
Stretches are still quite painful on her right hip (operated in April), but her left hip is doing pretty well (operated in January).

And the "Human" to whom those legs belong to ;)

Introducing Suki's sister ....... little "Sumi" - short for Tsunami; yes this is the human body to whom those little legs belong to ;)
Real name: - Juliet.

After spending an afternoon with her and the two four-legged gals, its not hard to understand why her Mummy affectionally nick-named her T-S-U-N-A-M-I :)))))
We had such a fun time as she is by far the most unaffected, spontaneous & intelligent cheeky little imp I've met, and a total delight to be with.

Poor Tania is feeling soooooo left out as Suki gets a hug.
